Fr. John Renggli went home to the Lord peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Tacoma Lutheran Home.  He was born in Tacoma and ordained in 1968.  His first assignment was as an assistant at St. Anne Parish in Seattle.   He was the Missions Office director in the 1970s, and pastor of some of our largest parishes in the Archdiocese during his 51 years of priestly ministry!  We thank God for Fr. Renggli’s incredible contribution to the Archdiocese of Seattle.  Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him.  May his soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.

Both the Vigil and the Mass will be at:

Holy Cross Church

5510 N. 44th St.

Tacoma, WA 98407-3716

The Vigil Service will be on Tuesday, December 3 at 6:30 pm with Fr. Jack Shrum presiding.

The Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, December 4 at 10:00 am with Archbishop Etienne presiding and Fr. Frank Schuster preaching.  A reception will follow in the Parish Hall and the Committal take shortly after at Calvary Cemetery in Seattle.

Condolences may be sent to Father Renggli’s sister, Anne Kettenring, 2100 SW Woodland Circle, #116, Chehalis, WA. 98532

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of sessions that gives participants an opportunity to honestly and openly explore some of the central questions of life and the Christian Faith. Alpha runs over the course of 11 weeks, with an Alpha Weekend midway through. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome.

Who am I? What is the purpose of my life? What can make me ultimately happy? Is there a God? Who is Jesus? Can I have a relationship with Him? How should I pray? Is the Bible relevant to my life? What is faith? And... why should I care? If you’ve ever thought about any of these questions, Alpha may be just what you’re looking for!

Please click on the image below to learn more about Alpha. Registration is closed for this sesson of Alpha. Please look back in a couple of months for the next Alpha.  Thank you.
